Invitation
Dear colleagues,
It is a great honour and great responsibility for Russia to host the main European corrosion event - EUROCORR 2010, and we are very glad that it was entrusted to Gubkin Russian State University of Oil & Gas.
Russian economy is firmly based on its natural resources, as well as advanced up-to date technologies including aerospace industry. The keys to these industries are materials, the ones that already exist and those that will be developed in the future, with their universal susceptibility to corrosion. Therefore we have chosen the words " From Earth's Depths to Space Heights " as the motto of EUROCORR 2010 in Russia.
EUROCORR 2010 will be an exciting event that will become a platform for the exchange of scientific and practical information as well as a forum for interaction between academicians, inventors, manufacturers, technicians, industry representatives and other professionals.
Russia is an integral part of both Europe and Asia - EUROCORR here provides a unique networking opportunity.
The scientific programme of the conference will include plenary meetings and keynote lectures , oral presentations in several parallel sessions and poster sessions .
Along with the scientific programme an exhibition will be held where industry leaders will have an opportunity to present their technical innovations in the fields of corrosion protection - coatings, industrial and laboratory testing equipment, corrosion monitoring equipment.
In the year 2010 Gubkin Russian State University of Oil & Gas will be celebrating its 80th anniversary. As part of the celebration encouraging young people to present their scientific achievements a contest of oral presentations of researchers aged below 35 is planned to be held at EUROCORR 2010. Five prizes will be presented to the winners at the EUROCORR 2010 closing ceremony.
On behalf of the organisers I am happy to invite all the international industrial and scientific corrosion community to Moscow - the historical, scientific and business heart of Russia - to enjoy our genuine Russian hospitality. Our guests will have a unique chance to gain an insight into the patriarchal character of the old Russian capital or experience its modern sparkling life!
We are looking forward to meeting you in Moscow!
